Both police and firefighters exist to serve and protect. The politicians love us when we are in the spotlight and question our necessity behind closed doors. No one chooses to become a police officer or a firefighter for fame or fortune, we do it because that is who we are, you call for help, we do our best to accommodate.
Each day is different and each time we leave home we wonder, could this be the last day? When Firefighters arrive, people are glad to see us. When a Police officer arrives that is seldom the case. When a firefighter dies, everyone cries, when a police officer dies not so much.
What kind of country are we becoming where this is even possible?
The Lewiston Firefighters Association supports all of the men and women in blue who walk the thin blue line and deserve our support, admiration and most of all a thank you for doing a thankless job in an upside down world.
