9/11 Remembrance Memorial at Central Station
Updated On: Dec 06, 2009

Jose Leiva/Sun Journal

The Lewiston Fire Department Honor Guard, from left, Roger Roy, Nate Maillet, Don Lagrange and John Daniels, stand at attention at the end of the Sept. 11 Patriot Day Remembrance Ceremony held at the Central Fire Station in Lewiston on Friday, the eighth anniversary of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center towers in New York City. A firefighters' turnout gear was placed at the base of the flagpole as a symbol of the firefighters who perished during their rescue efforts. Lewiston fire Chief Paul LeClair offered reflections with mayors Larry Gilbert and John Jenkins participating. Prayers and blessings were offered by police Chaplain Paul McLaughlin, with "Amazing Grace" played on the bagpipes by Bob Underwood
